Installing a program, adjusting a setting, or performing an update: for some tasks, admin rights are required. In many organizations, employees therefore receive permanent additional rights on their computer. This is convenient, but not without risk.
With administrator privileges, a user can make far more changes than are necessary for day-to-day work. Malware that enters the system via an untrusted download or a phishing email can therefore cause more damage.
Only additional rights when they are really needed
With Privileged Access Management, employees no longer need to be permanently admin.
Does someone need temporary additional rights? Then that employee can easily request them. The request can be automatically approved based on pre-set rules, or forwarded for review to the IT responsible. After the set period, the rights are revoked again.
This way, an employee gets exactly the access that is needed, only at the moment it is needed.
More control, without slowing down employees
